BBQ at new studio

Darryl Bisson - Lead animator at his work station. (they cant get up from their desks as the timed leg shackles automatically open up only when the sun goes down and its totally dark out)

For those that are curious, Pizza Fridays has turned into BBQ Fridays... which has kind of turned into as much meat as you can stuff into your belly every day of the week. We've struck a deal with a local butcher who gives us great deals on boxes of fresh Grade E meat. (kidding grade A stuff.. good food) The guys love it. Lunch time you can often see everyone out front sitting quietly enjoying the sun with plates full of steak, burgers and pork ribs. "A dream come true" says Adam Terrio supervising animator and resident butterfly collector.

Two new studio locations + photos

I forgot to mention, we also have a location now fulltime in Los Angeles with producer Sandra Caryl at the helm for us. We'll get some photo's of her and the crew down there up on the blog shortly as well.

Within this post a few shots from the new Halifax studio!

(Yes we have whole building, about 3000 square feet combine this with the studio up the road (old location we have 8000 square feet of raw production power!)

There you also see a picture of Darryl Bisson (lead animator), Yasser Haidar (director) and myself (professional staple remover) discussing I think at the time some animation direction for animated series Space Balls (G4 TV). We JUST finished the work on this show.

Update- Huminah

Well, its been sometime since our last posting. Upon much persistence from Mrs Manku, I'm doing a quick update of things over at Huminah + some photo's.

Huminah Huminah Animation is quite busy. We've just finished season 1 on animated series Speed Racer, we worked with our friends at Collaidascope for both Animation Collective and Lionsgate on this project, and what a project it was! Looks like its a hit on Nickelodeon so far, plenty good ratings! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m89zi1z8X3w

We also have started I'm a Dinosaur. A 52 x 2 minute coproduction with our friends in Quebec - Subsequence Entertainment! www.Im-A-Dino.com Soon to be airing on TVO, Knowledge Network, TFO, and SCN, with Monster Distributes distributing the project world wide!
Stay tuned for some storyboard and character designs to be shared on the blog!

BIG NEWS, We now have our own building. We bought a new building located at 40 Pleasant Street. Known as 5 Corners today.. back in the 1800's known as Burtons Hill. The building is an old colonial house converted into a new studio! Fantastic hardwood floors, big rooms with windows everywhere, plenty of fresh air for the artists and located closer to downtown amenities(sp). Pictures to come shortly.
